Missing element
When we were living back in the Czech Republic, we used to ski and ride on the slopes of Praded mountain – a highest peak in the Moravia region, or at some local ski resort. We also used to travel to the Alps, but we always felt that we were missing something. Now, when we became Revelstoke locals, we can say that with the annual snowfall in the alpine area reaching 18 meter, we have found the missing element that we were constantly looking for. This strange phenomenon is caused

by huge plains reaching far north all the way to the Arctic. Thanks to that, masses of cold air coming from the north east, are able to reach the Canadian Rockies. Additionally, the Pacific Ocean keeps providing this region with huge amounts of humidity and this magic mixture makes these mountains one of the best powder skiing destinations in the world. If you add incredible and easily accessible rideable terrain – both forests and alpine – the answer why we chose this place to call home, is pretty straightforward.
