Being able to merge skiing and climbing skills he is able to reach and ski incredibly steep lines. Since 2009 he makes a living being a mountain guide and since 2011 he is an ambassador for Black Diamond brand.

Mickey Ross was introduced to the mountains by ambitious parents who drove the family from the coastal town of Oamaru into the mountains of New Zealand every weekend.
Skiing every weekend turned into 15 years of skiing racing which cumulated in representing New Zealand at the Torino Olympics. After earning a degree in Digital Art at Sierra Nevada College, in Lake Tahoe, USA, Mickey relocated to Revelstoke, Canada where he soon turned his camera toward the mountains and the people exploring them.
