Our trip lasted for quite some time – we visited Hokkaido between 19th January and 18th February 2019, so we spent there nearly one month. The very moment we arrived, was the end of a 10-day period with very little snowfall and high winds. This clearly indicates that even in January it might not be as good as it is supposed to be. On the other hand, during our trip,

for nearly the entire time we have not seen any sun and witnessed snowfalls so intense, that we could not believe our own eyes – true Hokkaido winter at its finest. The problem was the wind, that was really harsh, especially if you skinned up above the treeline in places like Tokachi volcanic range in Daisetsuzan National Park or alpine sections of Mt. Yotei.
