Huaraz
Car horns… I am a big fan of western culture and civilization. Countries in which horns are not abused. They love to do it here. It’s evening, an empty street, no other cars around, but there’s a guy using his horn like there’s no tomorrow. Why, for whom, for what? Nobody knows. And if there are ten cars, of course they all honk, it’s local folklore. We walk along the main street of Huaraz. This city lives at night, the sidewalks are crowded, the restaurants are full, everyone is trying to sell something.

On the side streets dog gangs defend their territories. Some of them are wearing small, cute, but very dirty dresses. Don’t ask why, I don’t know either. We have been in Huaraz for several days. The city is located high, at three thousand meters and it is a great starting point for trips to the mountains. Since we already had a few bicycle trips around the area, we are well acclimatized and finally it’s time to go skiing.
