My departure date was scheduled on 18th of March. Peter started sending my pictures of unskied mountains in the area about one week before. I got really excited and a bit nervous because I was supposed to be the head guide. That meant doing all the safety stuff and avalanche studies and being responsible for 7 person crew, pilot and a helicopter. On the other hand, I had time to get comfortable with all the new situations, to check out the area before the crew arrives, and to see what is going on in the snow. All this involved skiing and making some first descents by heli – not bat at all!
